Safety tips
Most people you meet online are exactly who they say they are. A few are not. These habits keep you safe without getting in the way of meeting someone.
While you are chatting
- Never send money. Do not send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or bank details to someone you have not met in person, whatever the reason they give. A sudden emergency, a travel problem or a business opportunity is the most common sign of a scam.
- Keep the conversation on AsianLove until you trust the person. Someone who pushes to move to another app straight away may be trying to avoid our moderation.
- Protect your personal details. Do not share your home address, workplace, identity documents or passwords.
- Take your time. Be careful with anyone who declares strong feelings very quickly or avoids a video call.
- Look for the verified badge. It means the member's photos were checked against a selfie.
Before you meet
- Have a video call first. It confirms the person matches their photos.
- Tell a friend who you are meeting, where and when.
- Meet in a public place and arrange your own way there and back.
- Stay clear-headed and keep your drink and your phone with you.
- Leave if something feels wrong. You do not owe anyone an explanation.
If something goes wrong
- Report the profile. Open the profile, choose the menu and select Report. Our team reviews every report.
- Block the member so they can no longer contact you or see your profile.
- Contact the police if you are threatened or in danger, or if you have lost money.
- Write to us at support@asianlove.online and tell us what happened.
Travelling to meet someone
If you plan to travel to another country to meet a member, book your own accommodation and return ticket, keep copies of your documents, and make sure someone at home knows your plans.
